News from Gamescom
Gamescom is like the European version of E3 hosted in Germany. So major game publishers/companies come to show of or announce games they have been work on. Well enough of that.
At the Konami press conference, they revealed that No More Heroes: Heroes’ Paradise, the official sequel No More Heroes and No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle for Wii, will be heading on PlayStation 3 supporting PlayStation Move.

If you or anyone you know planning on getting a Playstation3 slim anytime soon, you could stop and wait a little while long. Sony announced they are releasing two new versions of the console. The 160GB version, will be replacing the current 120GB PS3 with the same price of $299.99. The 320GB version will come bundled with Playstation Move, PS Eye camera, a copy of Sport Champion and demo game disc all retail together for $399.99.
Insomniac Games took the stage during Sony’s press conference to announce two new titles. One being the long-anticipated sequel to a sequel, Resistance 3. Looks like the Chimera are back. An the other title Ratchet and Clank: All 4 One. This will the first game in the series that will feature four player co-op. Players can choose and play as Ratchet, Clank, Capt. Quark and Dr. Nefarious. Players can drop-in and out on online or offline. It will be coming out Fall of 2011

BioWare annouced Mass Effect 2 will soon be available to play on PS3, and Microsoft responded by saying the original Mass Effect will remain exclusive to Xbox, making Xbox 360 the only place to get the full Mass Effect experience.
BioWare has also declared a release date for their other great RPG sequel, Dragon Age 2. It is slated for March 8, 2011. Your new protagonist is a human champion named Hawke. While you can pick your character’s class, gender and can still customize how he or she looks, you can’t choose a different class.

Many release dates have been slowly announced. Some are listed below
Nintendo
Metroid: Other M–August 31 Donkey Kong Country Returns – November 21 Kirby’s Epic Yarn – October 17 GoldenEye 007 – November 16 Wii Party – October 3 PokePark Wii: Pikachu’s Adventure–November 1 Professor Layton and the Unwound Future–September 12 Pokemon Ranger: Guardian Signs–October 4 Art Academy–October 25 Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Mini-Land Mayhem!–November 14 Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light – October 5 Sonic Colors – November 16 NBA Jam – October 5NBA JAM Not Wii Exclusive
The remake of the hit classic NBA Jam will no longer be a Wii exclusive. The game will be available on the PS3 and XBox 360 in HD splendor. There is a catch though… To get the game for the PS3 or XBox360, you have to purchase NBA Elite 11. Within the packaging of NBA Elite 11, there will be a code to download the new NBA Jam via PSN and the XBox Live Marketplace. There is another catch… Though the PS3 and XBox360 versions of NBA Jam may look better and have better online play, neither will have the highly anticipated Remix Tour mode that will be featured on the Wii version. Inspired by Burnout, this mode lets you pick a team and go against some of basketball’s greatest players. It also boasts random challenges with random effects and goals. Imagine having to beat MJ in a backboard breaking slam dunk contest to get a gold reward.
Players looking forward to getting NBA Elite 11 will be happy to get NBA Jam as a bonus. Those not interested in NBA Elite 11, but want to play NBA Jam in HD will have to cough up some money for a game that they don’t even want. Personally, I think that I will buy NBA Elite 11, download NBA Jam, and return NBA Elite 11. Hopefully, I can get a full refund and put it towards some other game that I really want to play. NBA Jam will be available on the Wii on October 5, 2010. NBA Elite 11 is sceduled to drop around the same time.

E3 2010 Halo: Reach FireFight
Without a shadow of a doubt, Halo is one of Microsoft’s most highly reguard video game franchise. Halo: Reach will be the final installment in the series takes place before the events of the original Halo trilogy. Gamers can join the Spartan fight against the Convenant.
Halo 3 :ODST debut a game mode called Firefight a horde style mode where you and up 3 friend elimitnate waves of enemies. Halo: Reach are improves it with full Xbox LIVE matchmaking, and the ability to create and customize your own Firefight. You can change weapons, maps, game duration, enemy and skulls that would be active. There are some additional game type like Rocket Fight you and your friends are equiped armor abilities and an infinite supply of rockets. Another is Generator defense your team having to protect a series of generators from the Covenant attack.
The are some new weapons and gadgets in the mix. The target locator allows you to select an enemy or location to “paint”, which then sends a barrage of fire down upon it from orbiting ships. The Covenant concussion rifle fires explosive bursts of plasma. The fuel rod gun shooting out projectiles with explosive results. A brand-new armor ability shown was called Drop Shield. This one’s sort of a mix between the bubble shield and regenerator from Halo 3.
E3 2010: 3 New WWE Titles
THQ have announced three WWE games. The annunal installment in the Smackdown vs Raw series, Smackdown vs Raw 2011. It is was declared that the will have one of the largest rosters in franchise history with more than 70 WWE Superstars and Divas. It will also feature an improved physics system. It is slated to be release for Xbox360,PS3, PS2, PSP and Wii on October 26.

The second game is WWE SmackDown vs. Raw Online. The game is free to play and will be available only for the PC. While an American release date has not been announced, the game will release in Korea in 2011
WWE All-Star an all new game. It will feature an arcade fighting style gameplay. The demo displayed John Cena vs. The Rock .Graphically it looks to be using the same engine as Smackdown vs Raw but in an over the top realistic cartoon look. If you thought they were on something before, you definitly know they are. They are detailed and look great.
The gameplay is different and simplistic with buttons mapped for punch, kick and grabs which can be used to perform combos. There doesn’t seem to be a complex system of grappling and reversals focusing on making it purely on arcade-style game.
E3: Nintendo Press Event
Nintendo the house that Mario and Link built have laid their cards down on the table. Feeling as though core gamers have been left to fend for themselves while casual and new gamers got most of the attention. Though there have been some good core games trickling out of the pipes of Nintendo. We want more. Will they deliver what gamers really want or another year of medocity.
The open game is a Trailer of the next Zelda game. Title The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword, makes full use of the Wii remote and Nunchuk. Using the Wiimote, players will be able to swing Link’s sword at different angles. The Nunchuk is used to control Link’s running as well as to hold up his shield to parry against attacks. A new inventory system is in place, instead of pausing the game and selecting items it will now have a pocket like feel, making selecting items faster and more realistic. Some new weapons like a whip, use to attacking and grabbing items, A bettle which can be launch and controlled to carry, and collect items. Graphically differs a bit from Twilight Princess sort of dark tone, the colors looks more vibrant, and have a bit of cel-shading feel. Looks like another awesome adventure will be hitting our console sometime next year.
Mario is back once again, and he hitting the volleyball court. In a trailer shown you will be able to play hockey, dodgeball and basketball. Looks like it’s a full-on Mario sports collection for Wii. Mario Sports Mix is the title and will be released in 2011.
Wii Party, the next “bridge game” between hardcore and casual gamers. From the title you will play 13 different party game mode in over 70 different game
Just Dance 2 coming with 40 new tracks. Not alot of news on the game.
Golden Sun subtitled Dark Dawn make their long waited return to the DS this holiday. From the trailer the touch screen will be used for the puzzles and maintain the turn based battle system. It looks like it made a nice transition into 3D although not the best looking game on the DS, there were some nice effects displayed.
My name is Bond, James Bond. The game that revolutionize the multiplayer feature in game is coming exclusively to Wii. Goldeneye 007 will be a remake of N64 original. It has that old school feel with new additions and improvement. 4 player split screen multi-player online, yes online.
Epic Mickey a Will exclusive takes place in Wasteland a dark, twisted universe of old and forgotten Disney tales, characters, sets, theme park rides. There are some 3D and 2D levels. The main feature is Mickey’s ability to paint and erase things. He can paint or erase scenary and characters allowing players to change the world around you effecting what happens. You will be able to begin the quest this holiday season.
The return of a classic Nintendo franchise was revealed, Kirby. Kirby’s Epic Yarn is the first game for little pink ball in seven long years. The trailer showed the gameplay is in a 2D, side scrolling game. The art style looks to be cloth-inspired. The animations and actions also looked very fluid. It hits stores this fall.
Metroid Other M will be coming onAug 31.
Donkey Kong Country Returns. The title and what he does graciously. A gameplay trailer shows that it is truly a Donkey Kong Country game being side scroller. You can swing and collect those bananas this fall.
With all this talk about games what about hardware. Nintendo3DS was finally unveiled. It looks a lot like the DS, but with 3.5 inch screen that can show 3D without the need of glasses.Along with a familiar D pad, it have both a motion sensor and a gyro sensor, as well as a new analogue-style controller they call the “slide pad” A slider on the side lets you adjust the depth of the 3-D effect. The bottom screen is a touch screen. There are two cameras on the outside allows you to take pictures in 3D.Always on connectivity to other 3DSes and Internet to sync info. What more do you want. How about watching 3D movies.
Project Sara was a secret project that Nintendo have been working on since January 2009. It turns out that its your angel Kid Icarus. Kid Icarus Rising will be for the 3DS. From looking at the trailer, its a great looking third person game where you will be flying and shooting.
A new Nintendogs with cats announced for the 3DS, as well as a ton of third party partnerships, such as Square Enix, Activision, Level 5, THQ, Electronic Arts, Tecmo Koei, Capcom, Warner Bros., Ubisoft, Namco Bandai, and Konami.
So have Nintendo brought it this year? They sure have displayed games for the core and casual gamers.
